Happy Birthday, Busy!!!

Well, it's official. The last 3 years of my life have FLOWN by. My baby is now 3 years old and I just can't believe it!!! Okay, so with that out of the way, it's time to talk party :) For as long as I can remember I have loved my birthday. I am quite certain that I am passing that trait on to my daughter :) Her actual birthday was on Monday but her party wasn't until Saturday, so we simply celebrated a little every day in between. Monday started like this->
Busy came out of her room through a wall of balloons. I had intended to hang balloons from the ceiling in her hallway, but was afraid that whatever tape I used would pull off the paint. So balloon wall it is. She was SO excited!!!!! We took Beansie to school
then the two of us decided to spend our morning together like this...

Yes, she had her first ever happy birthday pedicure. Fortunately and unfortunately (I don't know which) she loved it. I got one too of course, and she kept asking her girl if she was going to do the same things to her feet that the other girl was doing to mine (scrub, lotion, massage). I had intended on a simple polish change for her, but full pedicure it is.

After naps we met up with daddy, who was playing in a golf scramble. We had good BBQ with great friends and ended the day with none other than her bestie, Wippie. All in all it couldn't have been a better day. And that was just Monday...

We kept the balloons in the house all week and played lots of games. (Kudos to Kroger for the super long lasting plain ole balloons. We blew them up with our own breaths on Sunday and they were all still around the following Sunday! They even made it outside during the week and during her party and none of them popped!!!) She would wake up every morning and ask "Am I still 3?" During the week we celebrated by painting pictures of cakes, making shaving cream pies and she even got to stay up late one night to see the fireflies light up like candles for her birthday, which she LOVED :) She said "OOOO!I have never seen this before!!!"

Saturday was her "birthday party day" and she was so excited! Her Uncle Scott, Aunt Amy, cousin B and Mo (my mom) came in for the festivities. She invited some of her best friends and we spent the morning preparing for the fun afternoon. By 4 pm our backyard was transformed into a water wonderland. There were two sprinklers, a water table, kiddie pool and playground. There was a kids table and an adult table and kids everywhere. She had an absolute blast and the other kids seemed to be enjoying themselves as well :)

This was the kid's table with tea sandwiches and pink and yellow lemonade.

And this was the adult table with tea sandwiches, bourbon lemonade and a raspberry beer cocktail :)

We had such a fun week/weekend. We are all exhausted and looking forward to the attempt to slow the speed of time over the course of this next year.

Happy birthday to the love of my life. And remember, you said that even as you get bigger "I will always be your baby."
