Coffee Filter Art

Busy is absolutely loving water color resist art right now! It all started with the heated wood resist we did a few weeks ago. Then for Easter we used white crayons and water colors on eggs! Yesterday she wanted to experiment with the resist technique using oil pastels and coffee filters. So I set up the project and she got to work.

What you need:

  • round, white coffee filters
  • oil pastels
  • liquid pater colors
  • a paint brush
What to do:
  1. Draw on the coffee filters with the oil pastels
  2. paint with the water colors on the coffee filter
  3. After it dries, hang the coffee filters in a sunny window for a colorful sun catcher!

She called this one "X Marks The Spot." She
made it for her friend Caroline because she
likes pirates :)
